Wedding Portraits at the Ancient Spanish Monestary
Nicole and Mendy’s elegant wedding portraits at the Ancient Spanish Monastery in Miami
When it comes to photographing destination weddings, finding the perfect location for Wedding Day portraits is one of the more challenging but also most fun parts! Flying down to Miami for Nicole and Mendy’s June wedding, I was incredibly excited for sunshine and palm trees but wanted to find a location that gave us an extra element to make our portraits really stand out. The bride and I prepared in advance and discussed the potential locations over video chat, sending photos back and forth of the options and what we loved about them. See my blog post on My Favorite Miami Photoshoot Locations for more of that!

Nicole opted for chic comfort and chose this clean converse as her wedding shoe!
When we came across the Ancient Spanish Monastery we were beyond words! The architecture and entire ambiance was exactly what we were looking for and the location was just 8 minutes from the ceremony and reception hall. The decision was practically made for us!
Nicole and Mendy’s wedding day blessed us with the most gorgeous weather (aggressive Miami summer sun aside). We kicked things off with an emotional first look before heading out to the Ancient Spanish Monastery for portraits.

As you can see, this couple just made it easy! We moved quickly and worked to get a full range of stunning shots, utilizing as many of the different settings the location provided us.

Nicole was the most radiant and graceful bride, complimented by Mendy’s calming presence. Their outdoor ceremony was followed by a reception overflowing with love and energy, not to mention the absolute best wedding food I’ve ever tasted!
